New album release
On October 11th, Jonas Kaufmann’s new album ‚Wien‘ was released worldwide. The album is a collection of the most beautiful Viennese melodies from ‘The Merry Widow’, ‘Die Fledermaus’ , ‘Wiener Blut’ & many of the city’s unique songs like ‘Wien, Wien nur du allein’ & ‘Im Prater blühn wieder die Bäume’. Soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen joins on three duets and the album was recorded with the Vienna Philharmonics and conductor Ádám Fischer.

Premiere of the „Mein Wien“ tour at the Konzerthaus in Vienna
The tour „Mein Wien“, which portrays the album’s program, had its premiere at the Wiener Konzerthaus on Monday. Jonas Kaufmann was joined by Rachel Willis-Sørensen, the Prague Philharmonia and Jochen Rieder. After the concert, Jonas Kaufmann was award the "goldener Rathausmann" by the Viennese mayor Michael Ludwig.

Press conference for the Wien-Album and photo book by Christine Cerletti and Thomas Voigt
On October 15th, Jonas was interviewed about his new album by the Austrian journalist Barbara Rett in the Brahmsaal of the Musikverein. In addition to talking about the album, the new photo book by Christine Cerletti and Thomas Voigt was presented. The photographs document the highlights in Jonas Kaufmann's career in the form of a “picture journey,” keeping track of the milestones in his life.
