Kraków, June 12, 2026. During a ceremony held at the Florianka Auditorium, Jonas Kaufmann was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Kraków Academy of Music. The laudatory speech was hold by Mariusz Kwiecień (left in the photo); he closed his speech by saying: “Jonas Kaufmann is one of the most outstanding singers of our time, whose artistry inspires generations of artits and opera lovers around the world. He is an artist whose passion, talent and dedication have enriched contemporary operatic culture. His contribution to music will remain indelible, and his performances will continue to move and inspire audiences across the globe.”
